Park Road, Henley-on-Thames

This Prestige Design & Build project added significant living space to a Henley-on-Thames home through a rear extension, full loft conversion, and complete new roof installation.

The 25m² rear extension opened up the ground floor, creating a larger kitchen and living area with a more functional layout. Structural steel beams were installed to support the open-plan design, and large glazed doors were fitted to connect the interior with the garden. The build sits on reinforced foundations with full structural masonry construction, plastered and finished to a high standard throughout.

Above, a full loft conversion transformed unused roof space into additional living accommodation without extending the building’s footprint. Existing floor joists were structurally strengthened, steel supports were installed, and a new staircase was built to access the converted space. Roof windows bring natural light into the new rooms, with full electrics, plumbing, and interior finishes completing the conversion.

To support the loft conversion, the entire roof was stripped and rebuilt from scratch. A new timber framework was constructed with modern insulation, new tiling, leadwork, flashing, and rainwater systems. The new roof ensures the property meets current building standards while providing a solid, well-insulated structure for the accommodation above.

The finished project delivers a home with considerably more space, a modernised structure, and a ground floor that works far better for everyday family life.
